Dr. Sam Martin

“Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.” Revelation 20:11-15

It seems today more and more people are thinking about the Coming Again of the Lord Jesus. This of course as they listen to the news, and become aware of all that is happening in the world. To be honest, one wonders how long before the Lord comes back.

Of course one cannot think about the Second Coming of Christ without giving thought to what the Bible calls ‘The Day of Judgement.’ The day when we will all stand before God and give an account of our lives. I was thinking about that as I read an article I had filed away some time ago. I am not sure of the source or the author, but it should cause you to think as it did me. We wonder what God will ask as we stand before Him. The author of the article shares things God will not ask on that day. Read them carefully and think about them:

Things God won't ask on that day!
1. God won't ask what kind of car you drove.
He'll ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation.

2. God won't ask the square footage of your house.
He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

3. God won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet.
He'll ask how many you helped to clothe.

4. God won't ask what your highest salary was.
He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

5. God won't ask what your job title was.
He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.

6. God won't ask how many friends you had.
He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.

7. God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived.
He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

8. God won't ask about the color of your skin.
He'll ask about the content of your character.

9. God won't ask why it took so long to seek salvation.
He'll lovingly take you to his mansion in heaven not to the gates of hell.

Of course we could add to the list, but perhaps if we start with those mentioned, our perspective on life will change for the better! Think about it!

God bless you!
