We give thanks to God for the faithfulness of people, Churches who stepped up top help us respond to the tremendous needs following Hurricane Matthew. We continue to distribute food to meet urgent and basic needs but we thank God for the new initiative, the provision of plants and seeds to enable families to face the future with hope. The following is the latest report from Haiti.
"Good evening, I am so happy this evening to send this report to you. As you know hurricane Matthew destroyed the agriculture in Cap Rouge, and banana trees, one of the most important crops was destroyed and the need of the people to find new banana plants was great.
As you can see from the pictures, men, women, even young children came from everywhere, lining up to receive banana plants and cassava plants. It was one of the greatest and the most difficult distribution programs we have done. This because people were pushing and shoving and did not want to stay in the line.
At a certain time, I had to stop the distribution, get everyone inside the school yard where we re-organized, giving card, to the people, then taking them out by groups of 20 and lead to the clinic gate to receive the plants.
I can tell you that, I did not realize the need was so great in the community. People came from all over the place to get banana and cassava plants. Once again, I want to express my sincere thanks to you for making this possible through The Arms of Jesus Children's Mission, to bless so abundantly the people in Cap Rouge and other area too. I want to thank each and everyone who contributed. I want to let you know that you have done something great in the lives of the people and I pray that Almighty God will continue to bless you. On behalf of the people in Cap Rouge, I want to thank you. Many. many Thanks to you and to All.
