In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3 v 6

On my desk is a little daily inspirational guide and it is called ‘a day brightener.’ I must confess, it is a real blessing and not only brightens the day, but challenges me as I seek to live for Christ, and lead the Mission. On January 4th, the title/theme was ‘I WANT YOU TO LEARN A NEW HABIT.’ This I have embraced and I want to share a little of the thought with you.

'Try saying, “I trust You Jesus” : in response to whatever happens to you. This simple practice will help you see Me in every situation, acknowledging My sovereign control over the universe. When you view events from this perspective, through the light of my Presence, fear looses it grip on you.'

On reading this, I decided to ‘learn this new habit’ and I confess it is a tremendous faith builder – why not learn the habit? We are not promised things will be easy, but when we learn to trust completely in the Savior, in His Word, life changes and we have strength to face whatever may come! Even when there are seemingly unanswered prayers, struggles and the like, don’t give up but rather confess ‘I trust You Jesus.’

Then as I read today’s thought, which was a reminder of the presence of God, the following words caught me: ‘Instead of dashing headlong towards your goal, let Me set the pace. Slow down, and enjoy the journey in My presence.’ Again a challenge – ‘let God set the pace for us, slow down and enjoy the journey in His presence!

Think about it:

* So much stress would go from our lives if we would slow down and live in His timing!

* So many of us need to spend more time in His presence and as we learn to trust Him, learn to walk with Him instead of ahead of Him, we will enjoy Him more and get to know Him in a deeper way.

From another perspective, think about the words of Joel Osteen: ‘Slow down and enjoy the journey right now. Take time for the people in your life. They won’t always be there.’

My friend, start saying “Jesus I trust you,” and slow down and enjoy the journey in His presence!
