Dr. Sam Martin
To be honest when I read the following letter, I was moved to tears and reminded of the tremendous sacrifices people make to help us reach out to children and their families, attending to as many needs as we can. The letter arrived on October 16th and it is a humbling experience to share it with you:
‘Dear Dr. Sam Martin,
We hope this letter finds you and your family very well.
By this means, we send our greetings and wishes that God’s continued blessing will be on your ministry and life.
We are a family who lives in Fort McMurray, Alberta where the wildfire in May destroyed around 2000 houses, including our house. But the Lord saved everyone in this town, and He allowed this event as a reminder that our lives are in His hands. As the Bible says in Romans 8 v 28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
Dear Pastor, thank you for caring about children and their families with needs in different countries. We continue praying for the work God has raised up through The Arms of Jesus.
God bless you and all the people involved in the ministry.
R, V and R.’
As I came to the end of the letter, there was a cheque, a sacrificial gift given to help us bless children! I felt so humble, so moved. The family who wrote the letter are not rich in monetary ways, but rich in Christ, in their faith and commitment to the work of Christ. I know that God will bless the family richly and I thank God for them!
You know life is strange! Here is a family who lost their home in a terrible wildfire, but sacrificing to help others and recently we had a note from another family, dropping their sponsorship of a child, because they were buying a new home?
Greater love?
Blessings!
