Director's Blog
Dr. Sam Martin
'Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him ….’ Matthew 5 v 42
Today my blog will be very brief because I want to lay before you a picture from Haiti. It is somewhat blurry but as the Chinese proverb says, ‘A Picture is worth a thousand words!’ The picture was taken earlier this week and attached to the following report from our Haitian Director:
‘The truck had great difficulty climbing the hill to Cap Rouge because of the road conditions. However we finally made it up there and the people were there waiting. We were able to do large food distribution and many people were blessed.
Unfortunately we had to close the gate of the clinic because of the crowds of people were coming to us. After the distribution, when the food was gone, the staff and myself had to stay inside the clinic for a long time, waiting until it was dark because so many people kept gathering outside looking for food. We had to shut the gate!’
Can you even imagine the pain our staff experienced? The last thing they wanted to do was close the gate, to turn people away, they want to help!
So far we have sent two truck loads of food and medicine to Cap Rouge and today we learned that people are coming to the gate from surrounding villages because the only place where they can get help is at The Arms of Jesus Children’s Mission Center
Thank God, that we are receiving gifts from generous caring people and as a result we will be sending funds to buy more food, to buy more medicine and we will send funds to make a real practical investment in the future – buying and distributing seeds so crops can again be grown. This will be a real blessing to the people and will help the families look with hope to the future.
Perhaps you can help us keep the gate open!
PS. As I write, word has come that the area has had another 36 hours of non-stop rain.Certification with CCCC is a powerful endorsement of a charity’s integrity. It demonstrates that the charity has been carefully assessed by CCCC’s rigorous certification process and found to be in compliance with CCCC’s Standards.
