"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus." Matthew 1 v 21
‘Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, There is something about that name.’
As I write, my heart is somewhat sad because it is difficult to understand why so many people seem to hate the name Jesus. This came out of a letter I received from a friend earlier today. A letter in which he shared that he was preparing to speak at a very large convention type meeting, and basically he planned to share his faith, his testimony and in that context, the impact that was made on his life after a visit to our Campus in Guatemala.
As I read his paper, I noticed he mentioned me, the school but did not m..

"And a little child shall lead them.” Isaiah 11 v 6
He was sitting doing a crossword in our local coffee shop and when I walked over, he said “come sit for a few minutes.” I did and I noticed his eyes filling up and he was fighting back tears. He looked at me and said: ‘Pastor I have just finished reading ‘The Blessing’ (The story of the Mission) which you so kindly gave to me and I am wondering ‘Why am I here, what can I do? The stories of the children touched me deeply.”
He is a gracious man, a friend from Church who has served the Lord for years. Now almost 80 he is wondering what he can do help! Moved by the testimonies ..

And the King will say, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!' (NLT)
The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' (NIV)
Matthew 25 v 40
Wow, where has the summer gone? It is difficult to believe that in the next two weeks schools will be back, Churches will be starting their Fall Programs, and of course the Mission will be busier than ever. For me personally it has been an incredibly busy summer with so many challenges and blessings. God is good!
Last week while on vacation, I r..

“Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.” Revelation 20:11-15
It seems today more and more people are thinking about the Coming Again of the Lord Jesus. This of course as they listen to the news, and become aware of all that is happening in the world. To be honest, one wonders how long before the Lord comes back.
Of course one cannot think about the Second Coming of Christ without giving thought to what the Bible calls ‘The Day of Judgement.’ The day when we will all stand before God and give an account of our lives..

“I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf” Romans 15:30
Behind the beautiful colors the situation in Haiti is far from beautiful today. There is unrest on the streets the result of Political turmoil. Hospital and Doctors are on strike. Shootings on the streets of the Capital increasing and our Director and staff are seeking to serve and to be faithful to God in a very, very difficult situation. In fact, It seems today more than ever, servants of Christ are under constant satanic pressure and attack. Daily it seems the work is getting more difficult and as I think of those who serve with AOJ, the words of Paul come to mind: ‘Galatians 6:2 to bear one another’s burdens’.
In this blog, I want to ask you to join me in prayer fo..

'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!' Matt.25 v 40.
It was a beautiful evening and we had just walked around the lake then decided to sit down and enjoy a cold soft drink. As we talked, we heard a voice from behind us shouting, “How are you doing?” We looked behind and saw a man sitting on a bench with a beer in his hand. We responded by asking him how he was doing and there was some small talk. He then said, “I am sorry I did not mean to interrupt you.”
We assured him he was not interrupting us and we got up and walked over to him, introduced ourselves and shook his hand. He was delighted to say the least. My wife began to ask him about his life, where he lived, what he was doing. He graciously shared his story summing it up with thees words, “this has spoiled my life” and he held up the can of beer.
